About Me

Hi. I'm PJ. I've been designing and sewing for about a decade.

I grew up in a community where sewing was 'girly' and 'women's work' so I was discouraged from ever learning about it. I also grew up with three older sisters, so I gained an appreciation for sewing and fashion, but never got to act on it.

Finally, in my 30s, after attending a number of comic book conventions, I asked my sister to show me how a sewing machine works so I could try to make my own cosplay. And a whole new world opened up to me. I dove into the world of sewing and pattern drafting using every online resource and book I could get. I could make clothes for myself and my wife that actually fit us properly. I could make whatever cosplay we wanted to do. And I realized I wanted to be able to do that for more people as well.

Now I've set up a home sewing studio for myself, and am loving every moment I spend in it. 

I've been able to use this place to enhance my skills and explore the world of fashion. And that's led me to some conclusions. I believe that clothing should make you feel good about yourself. And part of that comes from having quality garments that will last, not the constant buying and dumping of fast fashion.
